The Brantford Red Sox History dates back to the Canadian Baseball League which was formed in 1911. The Brantford Red Sox continued until 1915 when the war put an end to the league but the Red Sox continued in the Michigan-Ontario League from 1919 to 1922. In 1930 the Red Sox played in the short-lived Ontario League which collapsed with the onset of the Depression. However, they had a resurgence as an intermediate "A" team known as the Red Sox and became a power in the InterCounty League, winning both the League and the Ontario championships in 1931 and 1933.

The InterCounty Baseball League was created in 1919 and has been going strong ever since. The Brantford Red Sox joined the Intercounty Baseball league in 1934. and have won the Championship 13 times. 1949, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1965, 1981, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011. The Brantford Red Sox have won the pennant 8 times. 1950, 1951, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1981, 1983, and 2010


Sean Reilly of the Barrie Baycats is the 2011 John Bell Memorial Throphy winner for IBL MVP.
Shaun Valeriote of the Kitchener Panthers is the 2011 Brain Kerr Memorial Trophy for rookie of the year.
Lee Delfino and Terrell Alliman make the 1st team IBL All-Stars, while Jason Gotwalt is the lone Red Sox to make the 2nd team IBL All-Stars.

For the 4th year in a row and 5th in the last 6 years the Brantford Red Sox are the IBL Champions winning the Jack and Lynne Dominico Trophy. Stefan Strecker was awarded the 2011 Max Roseman Memorial Trophy as playoff MVP. Getting 2 wins and 4 saves in 14 appearances, with a .47ERA, 10 strike outs, only 16 hits in 19.1 innings of work.


Ryan Spataro of the Barrie Baycats is the 2010 IBL MVP. Winning the John Bell Memorial Trophy. Andy St. Gelais of the London Majors wins the IBL Rookie of the Year Award, taking home the Brian Kerr Memorial Trophy.
Lee Delfino and Hyung Cho are the only 2 Brantford Red Sox to make the 1st IBL All-Star team. Scott Robinson is the lone Red Sox who made the 2nd All-Star team.

For the 3rd year in a row and 4th in the last 5 years the Brantford Red Sox are once again the IBL Champions winning the Jack and Lynne Dominico Trophy, Josh McCurdy is the 2010 playoff MVP winning the Max Roseman Memorial Trophy. Josh had a great post season with a .435 batting average, blasting 6 home runs and getting 20 RBIs. Josh also had 13 stolen bases.


The Brantford Red Sox are the 2009 IBL Champions winning Back to Back Titles and their 3rd in 4 years. Stefan Strecker was awarded the Max Roseman Memorial Trophy as playoff MVP for his 3-0 record and five saves in the playoffs. He made 11 appearances, pitching 18 innings and allowing only one run (earned) for a 0.50 ERA.

RHP – Stefan Strecker, and Hyung Cho make the 1st team IBL All-Stars. Josh McCurdy is the only Red Sox player on the 2nd team All-Stars.


Brantford Red Sox's own Josh McCurdy is the 2008 IBL Batting Champion with a batting average of .442.
Rawlings IBL Player of the Year Award/John Bell Memorial Trophy – Frank Hare of the Guelph Royals.
IBL Rookie of the Year/ Brian Kerr Memorial Trophy – Randy Schwartz of the Barrie Baycats.

The 2008 IBL Champs are the Brantford Red Sox who win their 2nd Jack and Lynne Dominico Trophy in 3 years.


Dave Parsons, and Josh McCurdy make the 1st Team All-Stars, and Lee Delfino makes the 2nd team All-Stars.


The 2007 IBL MVP is Jeff Pietraszko, Kitchener Panthers. Jeff led the IBL with 55 hits, 10 home runs, 43 runs scored and was 9th in RBI's with 30 while finishing third with a .390 batting average in 34 games. Jeff last won the MVP award in 1999.

, Josh McCurdy, Wayne Forman, Brett Gray, Brad Hogeterp make the 1st team All-Stars. Adam Vella is the only Member of the Red Sox on the 2nd team all Star.

The 2007 IBL Champs are the Toronto Maple Leafs won beat the Brantford Red Sox in 7 games. Toronto wins their 1st Jack and Lynne Dominico Trophy in 5 years.


The 2006 IBL Champs are the Brantford Red Sox who win their 1st Jack and Lynne Dominico Trophy in 25 years, after they beat the London Majors 7-3 in game 5.

John Lundberg of the Barrie Baycats is the 2006 MVP.  He had a batting average of .341 hit 12 home runs, and got 40 RBI


The 2005 Intercounty Baseball League Champs are, The Barrie Baycats who won their 1st ever Jack and Lynne Dominico Trophy after beating the Toronto Maple Leafs 6-3 in game 6.
Ryan Spataro of the Barrie Baycats won the 2005 MVP. He had a .416 batting average, 55 hits and 19 stolen bases in 33 games.


The Guelph Royals won Back to Back titles in 2003 and 2004. Beating out the Branford Red Sox in 7 games in 2003, and in 2004 when they beat out The London Majors in 5 games.
